Recently, Fresh: Hip-Hop & R&B had the possibility to interview upcoming rapper TK Kravitz exclusively about his road to success, his favorite collaborations, his goals for the future and more.
Could you tell us something about your story? Have you always wanted to be a rapper?
I’ve always been passionate about music, but I didn’t know until the age of 12 when I recorded my 1st song.
You have already collaborated with some big names like Ty Dolla $ign and Dej Loaf. What is your favourite collaboration so far?
I would have to say all of them mainly because they are all talented and great artist.
With which artists would you like to collaborate in the future?
Lauryn Hill and Drake, i’d have to say right now.
What inspired your passion for music and who has been there supporting you from the beginning?
I love the way it makes me feel. I can be in any mood and it can alter it, you know? My family and team has been there from the beginning.
Is music hard?
Music isn’t hard at all if you have passion for it.
Any challenges on releasing your singles?
I’d have to say no, because you know and have that feeling as soon as you record a song that this is going to be the single. I guess it’s a artist thing.
Having a number one platinum album and some number one singles under my belt and winning Grammy’s and all the other accolades that I can get.
As you are starting out your career in the music industry; what steps do you plan on taking to reach your goal?
Staying in the studio and continue to perfect my craft and, of course, staying focused on the things and people that matter. Tunnel vision is a big part of having success.
From your experience so far, what have you found to be most challenging? And how are you dealing with it?
I’ve been in the business for a good amount of time now, so I’ve gotten over the just beginning antics.
From your experience in the entertainment industry, what advice could you offer people looking to get where you are today?
Stay positive, work and speak things into existence. Get your team together and hit the ground running!
