In this new entry in our ‘Diamonds In The Rough’ category, we want to introduce you to upcoming duo 3Fortiori and their brand new EP titled At The Door.
Check out a Q&A with the artist and listen to the project below:
What inspired you to create At The Door?
At The Door came together right on the cuffs of us truly mastering our sound and style. After having taken a break from dropping music, we really put in the time to try new things and embrace our creativity. So, the whole concept behind it, I was like, “we’re back on my better I will never leave right at your door hence “At The Door.”
What was your favorite part of recording this EP?
The discovery of new tones and new vibes that we haven’t really tapped into before. We think this music is a spin on our normal sound, as it definitely has different elements to it that we are really excited about.
In what way do you aim to make this body of art different from past projects?
We make a lot of emotional music. Our performances are always high energy and just super turned up all the time. We think with this project we tried to bring the energy portrayed to the music, while still keeping our emotional core.
What is your creative process like?
Melodies are everything to us. A lot of times we try to find the melodies before we even have the words. If you really break the music down, the melody really is the part of the music that people remember…they remember the melody before they remember the words.. magic really happens when you can match words with the way the melody makes you feel.
Where is your career going? What is your vision?
We want 3fortiori to be a worldwide brand. We bring a lot to the table and we truly believe in our talent and our ideas. It’s all about execution and being consistent. Our vision is being a household name while still being able to create freely
If you could perform anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Maybe Japan. the energy & style over there are crazy, and since we’ve never been before it would probably be super turnt up.
What sets you guys apart from other hip-hop artists?
We aren’t just a part artist we are ARTIST. You can’t put 3fortiori in a box.
Has your writing and songs changed over the years?
Short answer, no. But we’re always trying new elements in our process that already work. Ultimately, we think it’s important to stay true to yourself
Which song took you the longest to write? And why?
“At The Door”. This song has a lot of real emotions behind it, (as does all of our music), but this is the one I think we really had to dig deep to get some of those emotions out into words.
Who inspires you both the most?
Our fans!!! Just the thought of even one person out there listening to our music and appreciating our art. Knowing that it’s affecting them in a positive way, or helping them get through something is a feeling that can’t be replaced.
How are your personalities reflected in your work?
Wyatt is super structured and idea-based. Feek is more laid back with the organic and natural free-flowing vibes. Together, we balance each other out, and when you can find that balance it leads you to great things.
What is the role of Social Media in the music industry today?
Social Media plays the biggest role. You could have the best song in the world, but if you don’t know how to market it, it really can never reach the light.. If you don’t know how to use social media at this stage of the game, then you’re in the wrong field. But, the good news is it’s never too late to learn.
