Finding writing an extremely anxious process, “My Way” was an experience in which Christina was able to externalise her feelings and create something that encompasses her as an artist. Hailing from Cape Verde, Christina Rodrigues uses R&B and neo-soul infused beats and melodies to craft contemporary pop-esque tracks. She finds light and joy in combining her smooth vocals with modern R&B productions and afro elements. Melancholy and sadness are a major component of her songs as her music draws mostly from her life experiences and challenges as a person who is now coming into her own.
