In this new entry in our ‘Diamonds In The Rough’ category, we want to introduce you to upcoming Oakland-raised songwriter and vocalist Drew Allen and his brand new album titled King Of Roses.
The album takes both new audiences and loyal fans into a deeper look into the versatility of Drew’s songwriting. King of Roses draws from some of Drew’s personal and shared experiences. It is a cohesive story-telling, from the drop of the 808s on the sexy R&B influenced track “Distant Lovers” to the radio-worthy pop sounds of “Like That” produced by Drew Allen. The vulnerable and transparent track, “Honest” peels back the layers and provides us a closer look at where Drew, as a lover, writer and vocalist really can go. At the beginning of his career, Drew Allen sets a high bar and gives the Bay Area, Northern Cal music to be proud of.
