In this new entry in our ‘Diamonds In The Rough’ category, we want to introduce you to upcoming artist Kaiya and his brand new single titled “Introspect”.
Melbourne born Kaiya, grew up writing her life into lyrics in her home city in Australia. Although Turkish music was the theme of her family household, hip hop captured her heart early on in life. Along her journey she’s explored the roots of hip hop and connected deeply with 50’s-60’s jazz as well as neo-soul and contemporary r&b and is inspired by the likes of Frank Ocean, Sza and Ella Fitzgerald.
Kaiya has represented her home city of Melbourne by performing at local Hip Hop events such as the Get Down and loves to support the artists that she lives amongst. With the recent release of her first single “Introspect”, which was written in response to Melbournes lockdown laws, she is eager to announce her solo performance dates as soon as possible.
