In this new entry in our ‘Diamonds In The Rough’ category, we want to introduce you to upcoming artist Lord Solomon and his brand new single titled Baptize Me Everywhere.
Chicago hailed singwriter (songwriter who can sing) Lord Solomon breathes life back into the genre of the late 90’s Neo-soul era. With the resurgence of other Neo-soul artist like Lucky Daye, Ari Lennox, Yebba and SIR this artist will and is carrying on the legacy of soul music once at the forefront of mainstream culture. He infuses Neo-Soul, Gospel Quartet, 90’s Hip-Hop Jazz, 70’s Ballads and modern beats to create a time portal of eclectic yet familiar vibes. Praised for incredible songwriting abilities by super producers Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, Tank, Rico Love, DJ camper and the list goes on, this artist is like a mixture of something that feels familiar with something you never heard or seen before.
The single “My Strength Is Gone” off of his debut EP Baptize Me Everywhere is one of the most transparent works of art about a person who loves someone who doesn’t love them back. It’s hella vulnerable and makes you think if the person you’re with really feels the same way about you as you do about them. The artist stated “I was in a relationship that drained tf outta me. I was in love with someone who was using me as an emotional epidural to get over somebody they was in love with who was using them to get over somebody that they was in love with. I was in a loop of heartache and by the end I had nothing left to give to anybody not even to my damn myself.” He states he wrote the song after his first relationship after moving to LA in 2017. The single has already garnered exceptional reviews by record execs and music industry critics. I have a feeling the up and coming artist Lord Solomon is about to make his reign all over the music world and beyond!
