After a journey marked by personal trials, creative evolution, and an unwavering passion for music, Mystic Xperienz unveiled his highly anticipated new EP Guide’z on February 19th, 2024. A Story of Resilience
Known as “The Hip-Hop Rasta,” Mystic Xperienz has always used his art to share his truth. His 2016 EP Praises & Patience captured attention across Europe, particularly in Germany, and led to a successful European tour. But life’s unpredictability threw him off course, as he faced the heartbreaking loss of both his grandmother and granddaughter. Mystic took time away from music to grieve, recharge, and refocus on his personal life.
However, a transformative trip to the Caribbean reignited his passion, and it’s from this period of self-reflection and renewal that Guide’z was born. “This project is about me reclaiming my purpose and embracing my roots,” Mystic shares. “It’s been a journey of understanding where I’ve been, where I am, and where I’m headed.”
Sonic Evolution: A Fusion of Cultures and Sounds
Produced by the highly talented The Grinder, who Mystic credits as the best producer he’s worked with, Guide’z represents a fusion of diverse influences and sounds. Their chemistry is undeniable throughout the EP, with The Grinder’s production shaping the tone and direction of the project.
Recorded at The Grinder Studios, Guide’z blends the essence of traditional hip-hop with vibrant Caribbean and Latin influences, paying homage to Mystic’s birthplace of Curaçao. Salsa rhythms and Latin sounds are woven into the fabric of the EP, creating a dynamic and immersive listening experience that highlights Mystic’s versatility as an artist. “I wanted to push the boundaries of my sound and show that hip-hop can transcend borders,” Mystic explains. “The Latin influence is my way of honoring my heritage and infusing something fresh into the genre. It’s a reflection of the place where I come from and the future I’m building.”
