Nassy Javontee announces his groundbreaking entry into the arms of R&B, bringing a soulful sound to fans with his first single “Tell Me What U Want” off his forthcoming mixtape 4Play.
“Tell Me What U Want” is a nostalgic love song where a man confesses his love to his woman and how he is willing to do whatever it takes to love her and make her happy in hopes that the love is reciprocated tenfold.
The 23-year-old DMV native, was highly inspired and influenced by R&B in its entirety starting at the age of 12. “Truth be told my mama instilled the foundation of R&B in me before I even knew what music was, she used to sing Lauryn Hill to me, more specifically the song Zion but she would use my name. The sound of R&B was always a refreshing feeling, a spur of happiness and true enjoyment in my life. I remember waking up to my mama cleaning the entire house listening to Jagged Edge, Tyrese, Usher, and more. She had every CD and as I grew my musical taste came from that. However, I wasn’t inspired to sing until I heard Gotta Make It by Trey Songz and that’s when I decided to pursue it. The message, the video, the inspiration it felt like I was looking at my life through a glass mirror. 11 years later and It’s almost my time to pen a beautiful message to R&B, TELL ME WHAT U WANT,” says Javontee.
