In this new entry in our ‘Diamonds In The Rough’ category, we want to introduce you to upcoming artist Rich Writer and his brand new EP titled Mongo Slade.
Born and raised in the Bronx, Rich Writer is a true Hip-Hop enthusiast. Inspired by well respected New York rappers such as Method Man, Grand Puba, and Fabolous, Rich Writer values lyricism in a way that is substantially reflected in his music. With a musical approach that combines classic East Coast influences with innovative and eccentric wordplay, flows, and production, Rich Writer is carving out a unique lane in modern-day hip-hop. His ability to think outside of the box in addition to his extensive knowledge of music and Black culture has given him the platform to inspire other creatives to walk in their purpose.
Mongo Slade is Rich Writer’s first full-length project to be released. With a release date that also coincides with his 30th birthday, this project is deeply personal. Inspired by his desire to reignite attention to his hometown, Mongo Slade delivers raw and relatable content coupled with an authentic New York sound. The 9 track EP is streaming on Audiomack and available for download.
