DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH: Saleka – “Songs From The Attic”

Saleka Songs From The Attic

In this new entry in our ‘Diamonds In The Rough’ category, we want to introduce you to upcoming artist Saleka and her brand new EP titled Songs From The Attic.

Philadelphia-based neo-soul singer-songwriter Saleka is celebrating the release of her new EP titled Songs From The Attic via Lakeshore Records which collects all of her striking songs that have been featured in M. Night Shyamalan’s AppleTV Original series “Servant.” The seven-song album features the previously unreleased track “Somewhere In The Wild” which will appear in the final episode of the fourth and final season that airs today. Saleka’s music is key to setting the tone for pivotal moments in the psychological thriller. Songs From The Attic is available now.

Saleka notes: “’Somewhere In the Wild’ is the most challenging and rewarding song I’ve ever written. It is integral in a climactic scene of Servant and in Leanne’s story. The song feels at once intensely personal to me, and also the most specifically written for her. It’s a confession of love for a God, a family, and a world that never loved her back, that she never really belonged to. Every time Leanne puts on a Vivian Dale song in the show, she does it with some intention and desire, and the moment she puts this last song on is one of fulfillment and self-emancipation.”
