In this new entry in our ‘Diamonds In The Rough’ category, we want to introduce you to upcoming artist Shakk and his brand new single titled “Butterfly Trees” featuring Jack Craggs.
Shakk is an emerging rapper from Middlesbrough, taking a wide range of influences from The Beatles to Skepta and Kendrick Lamar. Growing up in Middlesbrough before moving to London to pursue his dream to become a successful artist, Shakk quickly started making the right connections to evolve as a musician working in the studio with the likes of Wax, AJ Tracey & more.
The title track from the EP Butterfly Trees featuring Jack Craggs is the crown jewel in this tracklist. Shakk has a unforgiving delivery with a tirade of witty and powerful social commentary and showcases his range and diversity within each bar of lyrics. The hard, conscious and catchy lyrics of the raps is accompanied by the the sweet and angelic voice of rising star Jack Craggs who has already been the topic of a lot of conversation at BBC Tees.
