DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH: Talasia – “Rejoice”

In this new entry in our ‘Diamonds In The Rough’ category, we want to introduce you to upcoming artist Talasia and her brand new single titled “Rejoice”.

Recording gospel singer and songwriter Talasia shares her advice for overcoming trials and tribulations with her single “Rejoice”. The hit record moves people to reflect on their current situation and why they should “rejoice”.

Written and directed by Quinten Showell and Talasia, “Rejoice” sheds light on several universal issues such as unemployment and parenting struggles. Talasia speaks to those who are yearning for more transparency as they navigate through life and seek universal love in their Christian walk.

Recorded in Atlantic City, “Rejoice” is not your traditional gospel track. “Rejoice” has a unique soulful sound accompanied by Talasia’s powerful melodic vocals that serve as a light in the darkness. The harmonious instrumentals signify the shackles being released as listeners cast their worries unto God.

The single is a few years in the making. Overtime, it developed into a song of encouragement, inspired by her religion and the daily struggles in this chaotic world.

From singing in several church choirs to performing on mainstream gospel stages, Talasia is living her purpose. Since the age of 16, her professional vocal training and occasional bass guitar lessons have prepared Talasia for an enduring music career. “Rejoice” marks the beginning of her journey.

“My overall goal is to create music that makes you want to get to know God on a deeper level. At the same time my goal is to make music that touches your soul, music you can feel through your body when you listen to it, and music that leaves you wanting to change your perspective.”

After signing with Monae Management, Talasia performed at the Taste Of Soul Festival in Atlanta, GA. The festival took place Labor Day Weekend 2021. Talasia is expected to perform at the 6th Annual Avidity Awards  Pre-Show in Charlotte, NC on October 13, 2021.
